Possibly the cheapest form of renewable energy in the future is going to be wind power. Solar panels are good but you have to find places to mount them. Also they are not as efficient at turning sunlight into energy as wind turbines are with wind.
Actually, a good self-sufficient premises will probably use both, but this site is all about wind power. There is so much information about wind turbines popping up in the news each day that to put all that news in together with all forms of alternate energy would make for a bulky and time-consuming site to read. And that's why this site is dedicated exlusively to wind. Out of all forms of alternate energy, wind power has to be the easiest too. |

In fact it's so easy that amateurs all over the world are attaching hand crafted wooden blades to old electric motors and getting their electricity for next to nothing. And, of course, we cover such examples of self-sufficiency.
But on the large scale side of things huge wind farms are now gaining ground as people realize they give clean energy and aren't such a blot on the landscape as they might at first have thought. There are still the questions that keep being raised about wind turbines killing birds or being too noisy, but most modern turbines address these issues. And this is the place where you 'll find out about all the latest developments
