Shanghai turns to wind for power
(China Daily: Mon, 27 Nov) Shanghai will turn its attention to wind power during a major conference on developing the renewable energy source, which will be held in China's commercial hub next year.

Power restored after wind, trees down power lines
(Salem Statesman Journal: Mon, 27 Nov) Sunday's high winds resulted in about 6,900 residents losing power in the Portland General Electric service district. PGE spokesperson Mark Fryburg said Silverton was hit the hardest among mid-Willamette Valley towns with about 1,900 households losing power in the late afternoon.

The company, which does business in Utah as Rocky Mountain Power, said it has brought a new wind farm on line near Arlington, Ore.
