China short of wind power talent
(China Daily) A lack of specialized talent is hampering the speedy development of wind energy in China, Shi Dinghuan, chairman of the China Renewable Energy Society, told a gathering of the country's major wind players over the weekend in Beijing.
BLNR allows talks on wind farm's growth

Wind energy equipment suppliers face order rush as demand picks up
(Gulf Times) Wind energy equipment suppliers are getting a rush of orders they may have difficulty filling amid increased demand for renewable energy power, said an executive at a unit of Allianz AG, Europe's biggest insurer. By the end of September announced orders this year for wind turbines will be equal to the total number of orders for the whole of 2005, Bill Calcraft, managing director of UK-based Allianz Specialised Investments, which invests in renewable energy, said at the Global Windpower 2006 conference in Adelaide, Australia.

(San Mateo County Times) Mercury Cafe owner Marilyn Megenity, a self-styled energy activist, drives a biodiesel-fueled car, conserves electricity at her business and voluntarily buys wind power. But by the end of this month, she expects to have something rarely seen in Denver: two power-generating windmills atop her popular downtown restaurant.
Mount Storm wind project under way
(Cumberland Times-News) reliminary work on one of the largest proposed wind farms in the state has begun on land adjacent to the Dominion Power Plant at Mount Storm in Grant County. The West Virginia Department of Environmental Protection has issued a storm water permit to NedPower/ Shell WindEnergy for a site on Grassy Ridge Road along the edge of Mount Storm Lake where a $300 million, 200-turbine wind farm is planned.
'Parrot risk' wind farm to move turbines
(The Australian) Federal Environment Minister Ian Campbell has won a concession from the developer of the Bald Hills wind farm, with the company agreeing to move six turbines out of the potential flight path of the orange-bellied parrot.
