Avista Offers Incentive for Washington Customers Who Generate Renewable Energy
(Yahoo! News (press release)) Avista Utilities' residential and small business customers in Washington who produce electricity with qualifying renewable energy systems are eligible to receive an annual bill credit under a new Avista program. The Renewable Generation Incentive (RGI) program provides incentives to participating Avista Utilities customers who generate their own electricity using wind, solar or an anaerobic digester.
Wind dream true at last

Five hundred metres up on a Manawatu ridge blasted by 45 knots of screaming westerly, Geoff Henderson's dream of generating commercial-scale electricity from New Zealand-made turbines finally came true. The Christchurch engineer and businessman has taken his New Zealand Exchange-listed turbine manufacturing company Windflow Technology and its shareholders on a rollercoaster ride in the past few years.
FAA Gives Go-ahead to Three Minnesota Wind Projects
(KTTC) The Federal Aviation Administration has approved three Minnesota wind power projects after concluding they don't interfere with military radar. More than a dozen wind developers in the Midwest had been told earlier this year that their projects might not get safety permits because of the potential impact on military radar.
Energy source rising on lake shore
(Bizjournals.com) The first wind farm along the Lake Erie shoreline is beginning to take shape. Officials gathered on the former Bethlehem Steel property in Lackawanna on Friday morning to break ground on the construction of eight wind-generated turbines that have to potential to produce 20 megawatts of power. The 20 megawatts is enough to provide energy needs for 6,000 homes in the immediate Buffalo Niagara region.
